Subordinate leaders (i.e. initially headmen and later the chairman and members of the Executive Council) and various other bodies (see below) of the GNC of SA were elected democratically in terms of successive national conferences . In the event of a vacancy that arise during the period between Conferences or due to a state of emergency (i.e.Covid-19 pandemic) an appointed may be made by the Paramount Chief. The chairpersons of the Council of Chiefs and Day Council are currently appointed by the Paramount Chief. The relationship has been hierarchical. The following structures form the GNC of SA on a national and at branch level, namely:
The Council of Chiefs was also formally known as the Executive Council (Uitvoerende Raad). This Council (consisting of the national leadership) is the highest decision-making structure under the Paramount Chief of the GNC of SA. It is regarded as the government of the Griqua Peoples and has strategic decision-making and executive powers and functions. A Day Council is also established from the members of the Council of Chiefs to promote day-day decision-making and functioning of the GNC of SA.
This Church was established during the Easter weekend of 1920 in Maitland Town Hall, Cape Town by Paramount Chief A.A.S. le Fleur and his followers.
Griqua people were exempted from Pass and curfew Laws by through a proclamation by Sir James Rose-Innes, Acting Governor General to took effect on 31 December 1923. Members of the Men Society (Burgervereniging) of the GNC of SA used to carry BURGER IDENTIFICATION CARDS with the mentioned exemption recorded in it.
The Society was established with Racheal Susanna le Fleur (born Kok) as its first President.
Establised at a Conference of Griqua Youth held on 29 December 1975 in Kranshoek.
Beheerraad is the local governing structure at branch level of local Griqua bodies/ structures.
